- An essential part of your anti-lock braking system
- A malfunctioning ABS sensor might trigger a dashboard light
- Can be clogged or damaged by brake dust and road debris
The ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (Right, Front) is a sensor located on the wheel of your vehicle. It measures the actual wheel speed and relays that measurement to your ABS, or anti-lock braking system. With this information, the ABS helps to keep the brakes from locking up in the event of immediate braking.
When these components start to wear out, your Nissan's brakes might lock up, which could cause some wheels to stop spinning and the others to continue rotating. If the brakes lock up when you need to brake, it may cause you to lose control of your vehicle while driving. Once your ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (Right, Front) notices that the wheels are turning at different intervals, the ABS computer will regulate the brakes until your Nissan's wheels are rotating the same.
If your Nissan ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (Right, Front) stops working properly, it may no longer send the correct wheel speed or any information at all to the ABS computer, and it will not securely maintain the brakes when you need them most. A damaged or malfunctioning sensor might also activate your ABS warning light or Check Engine Light on your vehicle's dashboard.
These ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (Right, Front) issues may occur when contaminants such as brake dust, dirt, and road debris clog the wheel speed sensor or if the sensor is exposed to harsh elements. If your ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (Right, Front) is no longer working as it should, have it replaced with a genuine replacement ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (Right, Front) from Nissan Parts to guarantee it fits your vehicle the way it should.
